Meet the Team
Kevin Teng is a climate investor and sustainability expert with over 20 years of experience leading fortune 500 engineering, development and sustainability teams. Since 2019, he has managed his family’s impact investments in early-stage catalytic sustainability businesses, focusing on food & agriculture, climate tech, and circularity solutions in Asia.
Based in Santa Monica, CA and Singapore, he is also a senior investment advisor for SoHo Capital as well as a board director for several early-stage impact start-ups.
Formerly a senior executive at Las Vegas Sands Corp. (Las Vegas) and Marina Bay Sands (Singapore), Mr. Teng was responsible for engineering, development, sustainability, safety, and construction. In his 14 years with the Sands Group, he held senior executive positions as the Chief Engineer, Head of Development, and Chief Sustainability Officer.
He is an active member of Toniic Impact Investors and the Asia Sustainability Angels, as well as a Fellow with the Aspen Institute, a former US-China Fulbright Scholar, and a LEED Accredited Professional.
Mr. Teng has an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BS-Engineering from Duke University. He enjoys hiking, swimming and jiu-jitsu in his free time, and splits time between Santa Monica and Singapore. Prof Paul Teng is Dean and Managing Director of Singapore’s National Institute of Education International (NIEI), the education consultancy/outreach arm of NIE. He assumed this position on 1 January 2018 after serving as NIE Principal Officer from 1 July 2014.
Prof Teng’s esteemed career has included senior leadership positions at the WorldFish Centre, the International Rice Research Institute, in U.S. universities (Minnesota and Hawaii) and in the private sector.
His pro bono positions include being a Senior Fellow at the South-East Asian Centre for Graduate Studies and Research in Agriculture in the Philippines, Adjunct Professor and Honorary Doctorate at Murdoch University (Australia), and as Board Advisors to numerous startup enterprises in agtech and urban farming.
Prof Teng received his PhD from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand in 1978. He pursued his Bachelor of Agricultural Science at Lincoln College, University of Canterbury and in 1973, graduated with First Class Honors. He is a Fellow of the Third World Academy of Sciences, the American Phytopathological Society, and the International Society of Plant Pathology.

Nathaniel (Nate) Abbott is a first-year analyst/intern, playing a pivotal role in supporting the Terrasys’ investment strategies and research initiatives. With a keen analytical mind and a passion for business operations, Nate excels in conducting market analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence for potential investment opportunities.
Nate is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Economics from Dartmouth University. In his free time, he enjoys coding, exploring new investment trends, and participating in industry conferences and workshops to stay abreast of the latest developments in the real estate sector.
